EMILY WONG, piano
Emily Wong George has been highly praised for her performances
of contemporary music, as well as her interpretations of the
traditional piano literature. She has appeared with the San
Francisco Symphony, Stamford Symphony, Philharmonia Virtuosi,
Continuum and American Composers Orchestra. She has played
at the Sarasota, Idriart and Cabrillo Music Festivals, in
the Summer Garden Series at the New York Museum of Modern
Art, and on the NY Philharmonic Chamber Series. She has recorded
for New World Records, MusicMasters, Musical Heritage, and
on her own label. She is also a founding member of the Ragdale
Ensemble, specializing in collaborative composition and
improvisation.
Ms. George received her B.F.A. from the California Institute
of the Arts, and later her M.M. and D.M.A. degrees from Juilliard
where she worked with Herbert Stessin and John Browning. Ms.
George is a former faculty member of Mills College in California
and serves as guest faculty at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber
Music. She currently teaches at the Westchester Conservatory
of Music and the St. Thomas Choir School.

JONATHAN FAIMAN, piano
Jonathan Faiman was born in Urbana, Illinois and was educated
in Houston at Rice University and in New York at the Manhattan
School of Music where he recently received his Doctorate of
Musical Arts degree. Jonathan has participated in numerous
summer festivals, including those in Aspen, Sarasota, Banff,
and Tanglewood. His private piano instructors include John
Perry, Marek Jablonski, Yoheved Kaplinsky, and Leon Fleisher.
Jonathan has performed concerti with the Shepherd School Symphony
Orchestra in Houston and with the Banff Festival Orchestra
in Alberta. Recently, Jonathan performed at Trinity Church
as part of the Noonday concert series. As music director and
accompanist, Jonathan recently completed ten performances
of If The Shoe Fits, a community outreach musical production
of the Manhattan School of Music. He is also on the faculty
of Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn and the Manhattan
School of Music Preparatory Division.

KATIE LANSDALE, violin
A highly successful recitalist, chamber artist and teacher,
violinist Katie Lansdale began violin lessons at the age of
3. By early adolescence she had appeared at The White House,
Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall. At the age of 14, she debuted
as soloist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and concerto
performances soon followed with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony,
the National Symphony and numerous others. Miss Lansdale's
many awards include the Schloffpreis, for performance at the
prestigious Salzburg Mozarteum, the Meyer Award (for most
outstanding participant at the Tanglewood Music Center), and
the Sudler graduation award, for the most outstanding contribution
to the arts at Yale University. Miss Lansdale has also founded
the highly touted Lion's Gate Trio, resident
piano trio at Tanglewood, which recently toured Europe to
considerable critical acclaim, and recently recorded a CD
of French contemporary music. She also founded the North Coast
Trio which has won Grand Prizes in both the Fischoff and Yellow
Springs Competition. Miss Lansdale received her Bachelor of
Arts degree (cum laude) from Yale University and went on to
receive graduate degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music
and the Manhattan School of Music. She is currently on the
faculty at the Hartt School of Music.

CALVIN WIERSMA, violin
Calvin Wiersma, violinist, has appeared througout the world
as a soloist and chamber musician. He has been heard at the
summer Chamber Music Festivals in Vancouver, Rockport, Portland,
Crested Butte, Bard, Interlochen, Caramoor, An Appalachian
Summer, Junein Buffalo, and at Music Mountain, as well as
the Aspen Music Festival. He was a founding member of the
Meliora Quartet, winner of the Naumberg, Fischoff, Coleman,
and Cleveland Quartet competitions. Mr. Wiersma's wide range
of musical activities have recently involved an international
tour soloing with Kathleen Battle, appearances at the Berkshire
Bach Festival performing the Brandenburg concertos, performances
at Bargemusic and with New York Philomusica, international
tours with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the American
Chamber Players, and concerts at the Metropolitan Museum of
Art with flutist Paula Robison. His recently completed recordings
include Jacob Druckman's Third String Quartet for Philomusica
and a recording of Elliott Carter's Syringa. In addition to
his performing activities, Mr. Wiersma is the artistic administrator
of the American Russian Young Artists Ensemble, an international
chamber music group of young professionals from Russia and
the United States.

SCOTT RAWLS, viola
Violist Scott Rawls has performed throughout the United States
and abroad as recital artist and chamber musician. He has
been featured soloist with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra,
Sinfonica de Tenerife in the Canary Islands, and the Pennsylvania
Sinfonia. A champion of new music, Mr. Rawls has toured extensively
as a member of Steve Reich and Musicians and the Steve Reich
Ensemble with recent performances in Paris, Brussels, Dresden,
Prague and Turin. He has performed with the Vanguard Ensemble,
the Composers Ensembles at Columbia, Princeton, and New York
Universities, and Terra Australis, among others. He is also
a faculty performer at the June in Buffalo New Music Festival.
Mr. Rawls is also a dedicated and experienced teacher. He
is currently Artist/Instructor of Viola at The University
of North Carolina at Greensboro where he is a member of the
resident Delphic String Trio. He has taught at SUNY at Stony
Brook, Penn State University, and Moravian College. Mr. Rawls
received his Bachelor of Music degree at Indiana University
and Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from
State University of New York at Stony Brook.

GREG HESSELINK, cello
Greg Hesselink leads an active life as a chamber musician
and promoter of new music. Mr. Hesselink has performed with
many ensembles including the Peabody Trio, the Stony Brook,
Canberra, and Laurentian string quartets, the Crosstown Ensemble,
Vanguard, the American Symphony Chamber Players, and is currently
a member of the New Millennium Ensemble, winners of the 1995
Naumberg Chamber Music Competition. He has premiered many
new works including performances of the cello concerto "In
Memory" by Dan Weymouth. He has recorded on the Koch,
Centaur and CRI labels.

ANNA REINERSMAN, harp
Anna Reinersman, harp, is a member of the Manhattan Virtuosi,
a group of young professionals with a concert series at Cooper
Union&'s Great Hall. Ms. Reinersman freelances
with various orchestras in the New York City area. She has
performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the Little
Orchestra Society, and is the harpist for the Broadway show
The Producers. She received her Master's
degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied
with Sarah Bullen. Recently, Ms. Reinersman was a finalist
for the principal harp audition of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Reinersman can be heard on Echoes and Shadows: Romantic
Choral Music of 20th Century Composers on the Ars Nova label
of PGM Recordings.

DIVA GOODFRIEND-KOVEN, flute
Diva Goodfriend-Koven, flute and piccolo, lives in New York
City and performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra
as well as all other major orchestras and chamber ensembles
of the metropolitan area. She has been a member of the Bard
Music Festival since it's inception in 1990, and has also
performed with the Boston and Houston Symphonies. In addition,
she teaches, coaches, and performs on soundtracks for films
and commercials.
